I was in the first grade when I realized exactly what I wanted to do when I grew up. It was during a field trip to a local television station, and while standing in the studio, surrounded by the cameras, I became fascinated with broadcast and video production. Around that same time, my dad was introducing me to the outdoors.

Fast forward thirty years, and I now spend my weekdays producing a top-rated evening newscast, and my weekends in the woods or on the water – except I find more enjoyment shooting with a camera than a gun, as co-founder of Team Hammerdog Outdoors. Team Hammerdog Outdoors released As Real As It Gets, a DVD focused on big game hunting, in 2006. I also own a production company, doodaa Productions, in Shreveport, LA.

More and more people are filming their outdoor pursuits these days. I want to share my experience and tips, in an effort to help someone capture that hunting or fishing trip of a lifetime so that it can be re-lived over and over again.
