As I have stated in a previous post, Carolyn McCarthy, (D-NY) has introduced legislation calling for the ban of all “assault” type weapons, magazine capacities of 10 rounds maximum, and ANY firearm that utilizes a pistol grip…of any kind, including thumbhole stocks. The only magazine that appears to have escaped the 10 round maximum is the tubular magazine on 22 rifles.
I have been receiving all sorts of feedback on this proposed legislation and it’s author from various sources, and will share it with you here. The author, Ms. McCarthy has sponsored 92 bills since January 6, 1999. Out of this number, 89 have not made it out of committee. The other three failed to pass on a floor vote. So, we need to keep her average of zero going.
If you continue to write and call your representative, that is a good way to keep this topic and legislation on their radar. We need to let them know that their ‘yea’ vote on this is a high risk vote on their part. If you desire to write the author, you should know that when you access her through the House of Representatives portal, you will not be able to email her directly unless you put in a zip code included in her district. I contacted the NRA about confirming my statement that Dianne Feinstein was made a U.S. Deputy Marshall so that she could carry a concealed handgun on domestic common carrier flights. I have yet to hear back from them.
I have, however found a picture of Chuck Schumer firing a full auto firearm, a TEC 9. Please note the look of excitement on his face. Also note that he is not wearing any eye protection.
I hope every one of us stays with this legislation. We need to let them know that they have awakened a sleeping giant, and we are not in a good mood. We as a group need to remain vigilant as the Consititution of the United States is continually under assault from some of our elected “leaders.” These are the same people who, when sworn into office, took an oath to “protect and defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic.” By assaulting the Second Amendment from their positions as elected officials, I now believe that they are violating their oath, and should be considered a “domestic enemy.
One more thing…does anyone besides me find it a bit ironic that the number on this legislation is 1022? As in Ruger 10/22? Sorry, I felt the need for a bit of humor there.

I can’t find anything that says the practice of deputizing US Congress people to give them what essentially a federal conceal carry permit. In 1994 there was some effort to end this practice but its unclear whether it was because of the conflict of powers. Congress makes laws that apply to everyone but them. You don’t think I should have a gun to protect me and my family why in the heck should you be able to have one? Same crap Rosie and the celebrities like to get away with. The democrats and the gun grabbing liberals being back in power are making another run at our second amendment rights. HR 1022 Don’t we have a right to protect ourselves from terrorists if they show up on our doorstep? Then Stand up and be counted. At the very least these so called representatives and Senators for the most part are guilty of subversion. Everyone who says they are lying when they swear to uphold the Constitution, during their swearing in to take office is absolutely 100% correct.

being from n.y. i have found it impossable to find anyone who is knowable of the laws on firearms or any weapons of any kind.so slingshots and some ww1 knives are outlawed,and most people dont know anything about it.

I am happy I found this blog you say the same stuff I am thinking only you put it so much better. I have so far emailed both reps and the senator from my state expressing my views about ANY INFINGMENT on the Second. I am calling their offices as well explaining to whom ever answers the phone it is unfortunate that they all agree with me so that I am preaching to the choir. The folks who are represented by anti gun people need to do this also. And be more proactive about the opinions to the anti’s Elected officials are opinion driven in most cases, show them the opinion of the majoraty of voters and they will change their stand, like the Dems said they did when they lost so much after the 92 AWB was passed

I believe Feinstein is in violation of the US Consitution she is sworn to uphold – if she is indeed a Deputy US Marshall (whether acting or reserve, and whether or not paid); to wit, while serving as Senator, Congressperson, President, or Vice President, they may occupy NO other Federal job (elected or as an employee). They MAY sit on commissions and advisory bodies. But she, of all people, arrogant that she is, ought to know this!
